One doesn't need to be an economist or financial genius to realize that promised investments that haven't been made won't need to be refunded if SCOTUS holds that Trump's Liberation Day tariffs aren't valid.

Trump perennially engages in fuzzy math, creative accounting, misrepresentations, and outright lies. Promised investments extorted by Trump via his threats of imposing even higher tariffs are not themselves tariffs, nor have the vast majority of them been made to date.

So the US recently forced the Dutch to remove a memorial to America's own Black soldiers that died liberating the Netherlands from the nazis? On brand.

Towards the end of WW2, the French were shocked when the US refused to let its own Black soldiers join the celebration the liberation of Paris.

He campaigned on cutting the cost of living, but he has governed to raise it: regressive tariffs, immigration, fiddling with the Fed, cutting renewable energy, and firing the person whose job was to measure all of this.

The thing to understand about this is that this catastrophe in the UK has redounded to the political benefit of the very same people and political movement that pushed for it! Extremely perverse.
