By now, we've all seen the video of Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) being forcibly removed and handcuffed for asking a question during Kristi Noem's press conference.

But what Noem said just moments before the video was taken is "classic authoritarian red-baiting," points out @davidcorn.bsky.social.

Senator dared to question the Empire, directly, and was met with force. Stormtroopers didn’t hesitate. They grabbed him, cuffed him, dragged him away like a dissident, claiming he “failed to identify himself.” But everyone knew who he was. He was a Senator.

WTF? Trump is now threatening the American people. He warned protesters to stay away from his birthday/military parade in D.C. this Saturday, claiming anyone who shows up to protest “hates our country” and will be met with “very heavy force.” This is authoritarian behavior, plain and simple.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem called Los Angeles a “city of criminals” and not a city of immigrants. But like its name, Los Angeles is a city of angels. We protect and look out for one another, especially the most vulnerable.

They’re trying to silence us with fear and force. But “darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.” On 6/14, we show them what resistance looks like. Peaceful, unshakable, and everywhere!

Marine veterans are speaking out against the troop deployment in Los Angeles. Across the country, they’re taking down their American flags that have flown in front of their homes for years. Remember, we have friends everywhere.

All these patriots who signed up for the National Guard to protect America from Russia and China are being turned on their fellow Americans by a Russian-backed corrupt madman.

Just as Putin would have scripted it, and just as Trump and Miller oblige.

Trump told reporters at the White House that the protesters in Los Angeles “are insurrectionists.” That’s false. January 6 was an insurrection, this is a protest. But by using that language, he may be laying the groundwork to invoke the 1807 Insurrection Act.

Let this sink in.

Even the Los Angeles Police Chief, Jim McDonnell, made it clear: the people protesting immigration raids were not the ones causing violence.

During a Sunday evening press conference, McDonnell condemned the violence as “disgusting”
