If I said it, I was told I was a horrible person who needed to be nicer and then I didn't hear the end of it for days. This behavior wasn't acceptable for a 12 y/o, and it certainly isn't acceptable for a 78 y/o president-elect.

Sanewashing Trump's behavior reminds me of my grandparents justifying my cousin's abhorrent behavior because his mother died. If he told me to "go to hell" it was okay because he was grieving and that was the end of that.

It's okay to be scared - is something I tell people as a clinician. But I'm scared and worried. I tell my son that it will be ok, but I realize I need someone to tell me that it will be ok.
