That's their right, of course; it's public record, and I have long since been held accountable for my crimes. Interestingly, however, neither of the writers addresses the actual argument I made that investing in solutions to the root causes of crime, including gun violence, would serve our communities better than handing out longer prison terms. Do you think they just forgot? 🤔

A Florida judge rejected the attempt to dismiss FJI’s lawsuit over the deadly heat in its prisons.

Polis vetoes bill that would ban municipal courts from imposing harsher sentences than state courts Governor Jared Polis on Friday vetoed a bill that would have prevented municipal courts from handing down harsher sentences than the state for low-level crimes.

While the Trump admin guts due process by design, Jared Polis stands by and lets it happen—vetoing HB25-1147 and leaving unhoused people in Colorado at the mercy of city courts that deny counsel, transparency, and fairness.

Either way, vulnerable communities lose.
