I am honestly mystified as to how a millennial with a science PhD is this bad at tech.

But also now I really want to make it my mission to make them at least semi-competent at slack because hoo boy would that make a lot of departmental organizing easier.

Anyway, I just replied to their slack message.

They replied back after a while.

And then sent an additional reply to sign their name. To a dm.

I finally got them to send a slack message.

By declining their calls.

They then proceeded to email me and also stop by my office to make sure I saw the slack dm.

This all happened during my lunch break.

I have a colleague who is the same age as me, but doesn't understand how to use an instant messaging app, and instead insists on calling me on the phone multiple times per day for simple requests. It blows my mind.

I am entirely unsurprised by this, and also I love it

Seriously though I'm pretty sure you can pay NGL to reveal who's sending anonymous messages. I for one would be more than happy to chip in towards this if you ever needed or wanted it.
