I could taste the vanilla, but the asiago overpowered it a bit (though the asiago flavor was nice with the vanilla brandy cream)

I may need to invest in some good Tahitian vanilla bean paste in the near future, as that would probably be easier to find (and use) than whole beans 🤔

Creamy vanilla & asiago sauce over paccheri pasta with grilled chicken

I infused some heavy cream with the vanilla (seeds and the sliced pod) over low heat, and used asiago for the cheese

Also I added some brandy to the sauce and tossed the pasta w/ grilled chicken

I probably need a little less cheese/a little more vanilla next time, but y'all this was SO CLOSE

It was so ridiculously good

I have tried several times to recreate it, but have never gotten anywhere close

But I feel like my roux-> Béchamel-> Mornay sauce game has improved over the years, so it was time to try again

Please appreciate the new duck lamp/phone stand that will be living on my desk at work so I can watch D20 on my lunch breaks

I repaired two microscopes (replaced burned out circuit boards), so now we're back to a full classroom set of working scopes just in time for our Gen Bio labs to start microscopy next week

(I've never done this; normally we hire someone to do repairs, but I can't afford to have them here until May)
