If this is the first time this request has been made, I would absolutely say stand your ground. If travel is involved, claim money and/or time constraints. It feels like an odd demand, and one that could be repeated if you allow it just this once.

Yeah, I would also want to negotiate all or none. This feels like he/they want to talk to you when you don't have each other as backup, and I will say again: I don't like it.

(But also I come from a dysfunctional family that makes me paranoid about this sort of thing, so ymmv 😅)

Full agree that being a 3rd wheel sucks.

But a parent being jealous of their children's relationships - to the point of insisting that at least one of them has to do extra travel to visit both parent & favorite sibling - feels like a special level of selfish that probably needs some sorting out.

One sent back an Excel file with 7 worksheets in it. Each sheet has 1-10 items listed, not necessarily separated by vendor, and some with almost no info beyond a 2-3 word item description, and now I'm ready to go back to bed.

I very rarely bring my laptop home (because fuck doing work when I'm off the clock), so the risk of forgetting is high!

Look, I need to cook dinner pretty soon, but literally the only other things on the agenda for tonight are intentional down-time, and setting a reminder so I don't forget to take my laptop to work tomorrow.

I don't like any of those things, my friend. I hope good food makes at least some of it better.

A photo of my finished Kurt Cobain charcoal drawing, but it is still taped to a large drawing board with black artist's tape. The photo has not been cropped and she's the tape, drawing board, and the wooden drawing table where I work, which has a mess of charcoal pencils, charcoal sticks, erasers, and other tools in the tray along the edge of the table.

All of the progress photos start out like the one below. I use a cropping tool in Google photos (I have a Pixel phone) to crop as close as I can to the corners inside of the black tape so they all end up the same size & angle. Then I add photos to an animation to make a GIF.

(For clarity: this was NOT a commission - I am a hobby artist. I drew this as a gift for a friend ☺️)
