Tonight is our last night with this crew. Tomorrow they go in for their surgeries and then will be available to adopt through the Cleveland APL. We're really going to miss all the energy and purrs they brought to the house!

In the mornings while the kittens eat I clean their boxes and straighten up all the things theyve knocked over. Then immediately after eating the run around, knock everything over again and use every single box. So I just sit in here and wait for my second round of cleaning 😂

I've built a socioeconomic system that depends on everyone to do useful work and act ethically except the people at the top, who get unimaginable rewards for being antisocial frauds and criminals. And I think it will stand the test of time

Can't believe how often I run into the misconception that shelter animals are all broken, deficient, or ruined in some way. The overwhelming majority of shelter animals end up there because of human circumstances, NOT because they did anything wrong.

Giving the tired momma I'm fostering a little solidarity pet after watching this video. She only has 4 and they're a few weeks younger than these but I can already see her patience starting to wane.

Reminder that the cotton stretchy decorative spider web stuff is terrible for local wildlife (yes, even in the city).

Update: I have now seen the yellow jackets kill multiple spotted lantern flies so I kind of hope they come back next year.

I am clowning on this thing but if it's actually useful I'm open to being corrected. Though, I can think of multiple drawbacks separate from whether or not it even works as intended.

Maryland folks, can you give this a boost

I was stung in the eyebrow by a yellow jacket yesterday. I was aware of their nest and knowingy planting a shrub very nearby...so it wasn't totally unexpected. I have another shrub to plant basically on top of where their nest is but I'll wait until spring when they'll be gone.
