I don’t think time travel is the element at play although I was pleasantly confused initially by how the characters were connected. But isn’t it just cryogenics?

I think streaming alleviated a lot of the issues that made pirating popular although as the combo of streaming services gets more expensive, pirating will def rise again. But I don’t think that’s the challenge streamers are facing.

It came out during my MFA so in the 2022–2024 window. When I find it I’ll definitely share.

I’ve been trying to hunt down the article in the trades but last year or the year before there was an article that basically said as much. Data suggested that if marketing spend matched what similar films with white male leads got, they’d perform the same. But “conventional wisdom” discourages that.
