a male Northern Flicker is perched at a bird feeder. The bird is positioned on the left side of the frame and displays distinctive spotted plumage on its breast and back. It has a grey head and a black malar stripe, or "mustache," which indicates it is a male. The bird feeder is made of wood with a dark roof and a clear plastic window, allowing the seeds inside to be visible. A wire suet cage is attached to the side of the feeder, containing a suet cake. The background consists of natural, somewhat bare branches and green foliage, with a few colorful hanging decorations visible on a branch to the left of the bird.
