Entering a restaurant last night, a gentleman exiting said "I hope you have reservations." Then he said, "Well at least the economy is picking up." I said, "best economy in the world. Thank you Joe Biden." Felt good to have a rejoinder. Odds are that was not a response he was expecting.

One makes a gesture if they can't shake your hand. Just so you know if you're in those circumstances. Smile, nod, offer an elbow or your other hand. Lift up your hand holding the cane, so one can put their hand on yours. It's the lack of any gesture of acknowledgement.

Why didn’t he look her in the eye? Say something? Smile? Offer his other hand? I don't see a legitimate excuse.
