I'm gonna be such a hazard lol
14.10.2025 22:23 โ ๐ 10 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0With the ears sewn on, he's pretty much all done!
I just need to do a few final touchups like making accessories, hairspraying the braids and adding stronger magnets in the hair tuft
Video in comments for proof of ear wigglage

Finally, the back of the head and neck are all done!!
It took a while since my pattern for these parts was really bad, so I had to add, cut, dart, improvise...but in the end it looks good and it fits, so that's good enough for me!

You might have noticed a lack of updates lately, it's because you're all caught up!
Progress will be slower because work, but I finished the braids and started working on adding the neck.
#Fursuit #FursuitMaking
Final piece was to make the neck.
I got a cheap pattern on Etsy, and it fit pretty well. I'll add it once the stitching on the back of the head is all done.
#Fursuit #FirsuitMaking
I finally got to the back of the head, which unfortunately didn't go so well.
I tried adding strip of velcro so I could access the inside. Turns out it wouldn't close all the way because of all the foam I added, so I started adding strips to bridge the gaps.

Some more work on little details
I lined and added a chin rest that I ended up having to move a bit later on. I then made some crochet braid rings, I'm supper happy with how the pattern turned out. I've made them removable so the braids can be maintained.
#Fursuit #FursuitMaking
After trying the head on, I realized it really was not stable enough.
I was told to go wild on the foam so I did. I added padding to every spot that touches my face, with removable lining. I might actually have overdone it, but that's a story for a later post.

For sure, I did something pretty similar to this:
www.tiktok.com/@otterhalfco...
And finally, the final piece of the head (not counting the neck).
I saw a tutorial on how to make a mane-like hair and tried to do the same. It's not quite as fluffy as I would have liked it to be, but it looks pretty good when I'm wearing it!
#Fursuit #FursuitMaking
Another detail that seems minimal but makes a big difference: the eyeliner.
It took me a while to make it because I was so afraid of gluing anything to the fur. Turns out, it's much better and safer to just glue it to the cup of the eyes.
#Fursuit #FursuitMaking
Now on to smaller details on the face: lips and eyebrows.
The lip is made of very short velvet from fabric scraps, with the sides folded along the middle to make it cleaner.
I'm very disappointed for the eyelids, the magnets aren't strong enough to secure them in place.
#Fursuit #FursuitMaking
Time to work on the smaller details!
I made the upper hair tuft with two magnets for easy storage and swappable hairstyles. Then, two horn sheaths to hide the locking mechanism. The fur transition isn't the cleanest, but oh well.
#Fursuit #FursuitMaking
Thank you so much!! I'm indeed very proud of it, I can see all of its imperfections but I'm happy to know that it's the best I could have done
27.09.2025 22:39 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Here's a full build from that point, and I gotta say I was really happy with how it looked already! And cat gave his blep of approval.
I still had quite a bit to go though:
Bottom and upper lips, eyeliner, eyelids, horn sockets, braid ends, back of the head and neck.
#Fursuit #FursuitMaking
Haha yeah that's a good point, though being in plain sight right on the snoot it's definitely something I worry about
26.09.2025 14:22 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It's still a bit visible if I brush the fur, but when it's a little ruffled up it's practically invisible
26.09.2025 08:23 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Finally, the long awaited step...shaving!!
I cannot describe how nervous I was. And of course, it went wrong and I overshaved a spot. I tried needle felting some fur back in but it didn't work, so I cut it out and made an inlay which ended up surprisingly clean.
#Fursuit #FursuitMaking
More work on the fluffy bits, finished the braids and main hair tuft.
The braids do lose shape when they fluff up, so I'll have to find a way to let me undo, brush, then re-braid them despite the braid rings. The hair and braids are all magnetic.

Whoops, I guess I forgot to press "Post" yesterday
24.09.2025 20:05 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Updates will be more detailed so I don't run out of content too soon.
I started thinking more seriously about the horns, with the EVA foam socket to hide the twist lock. They started way too tall and dipping very low, so I made a second version (last pic).
#Fursuit #FursuitMaking
It was then time to tackle the braids, I had an idea in mind but no clue how it would turn out.
I cut 5cm strips of fur, sewn them into tubes, braided them together. I thought the fluffiness of the fur might hide the texture of the braid, but it ended up looking good!

Just you wait until my daily uploads catch up with my current progress!
20.09.2025 23:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0After a worrying amount of time in the mail, my eyes had arrived.
My friend @matt-the-mutt.bsky.social and his magical sublimation printer made them for me with PVC mesh.
Problem: my real eyes were visible (3rd pic)
Solution: a second layer of mesh (4th pic)

You may have spotted some magnets around the eyes, these are of course for angy and eepy time.
And then I finally glued most of the fur to the base. The sides and top are still loose, it'll be easier when I secure the horn bases, the ears will be secured in last
#Fursuit #FursuitMaking
Here's the twist lock mechanism, made by the same friend who modeled my head base. It's modified to be able to sew the parts to the base and the horns.
18.09.2025 22:58 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Still going one small step at a time.
I made a horn to test a detachable mechanism (video in comments), as well as starting to work on the back and trying a different strap method with a 3d printed piece. It did feel more secure so it'll probably be the one I end up using.

Thanks! And yes he good boy :>
