Though this period in American history is known for expansive mansions and arranged marriages between American “Dollar Princesses” and European nobility, the Gilded Age was an era in which drag not only developed in this country but thrived.

Sam Nordquist, a transgender man from Minnesota who was brutally murdered in Upstate New York earlier this year, was honored at Stonewall Inn on Thursday. While Pride Month is a time to celebrate the progress made toward equality, we must acknowledge there are many left behind.

Clark Oloffson a.k.a. the man who helped inspire Stockholm Syndrome theory died on Thursday after a long illness, according to BBC News. I assume it’s because a quick Google search depicts Oloffson’s brooding looks but, hey, I’m not a psychologist.
