Just realised that by putting Tailscale too she just a got a 24/7 support wherever I'm gonna be in the world
Maybe a bit overkill for some light browsing and her puzzles evenings ๐

Putting Linux on my mother's computer
Let's see how the experiment works out
I'm beyond exited for this ๐ฌ๐ฌ

Challenges are what forges us, imagine getting everything with a snap of your fingers, would things taste the same?
In Italy we use Disney characters, like Goofy, Pluto and Donald Duck

But I still have a Gleam of hope
Also, keep in mind that the binding of non string values is handled by svelte.
Like for number inputs, the value is a number, not a string, so the input coercion is automatic.
Take a quick look to the tutorials
svelte.dev/tutorial/sve...
Let's say you want to display "$ 100" in your input
Svelte or not, it's far easier to use css ::before with content: "$" and play with the paddings, instead of juggling the value of an input display the $, but to ignore it when the user do something
I want this next generation of software development tools to run on my own computer. Vim and Emacs helped democratize software development and made it accessible. We shouldn't allow this AI wave to take us backwards.
I really hope the open source community can keep pace.
Google balls apparently

Don't forget that you can play with other HTML elements while keeping the value a true number.
KISS
In that case you can use functional bindings. You can specify different behaviour for set and get
svelte.dev/docs/svelte/...
Anyway, since the bind is two way you can react instantly to the value change and change it back without the pain of react's controlled input.
I have yet to use this.
the anthropic drama (tl;dr they blocked third party tools from using claude code subscriptions) is a useful reminder that you use LLMs at the pleasure of the companies providing them
sounds obvious but despite all the AI discourse, i don't see a lot of people talking about the consequences of this

Good to know that companies like cloudflare stand where they need to, but we should not take that for granted.
We need to move to a system where these kinds of censorship are not even technically possible.

youโre right! it feels mostly awful to Go Onlineโข, these days. the internet in a sad state, for reason after reason after reason. but there is a way to fix it; to trade the voidful howling for a quiet & joyful song.
hereโs how to win the war for the soul of the internet, and build the Web We Want.
I'd say you should learn both not to follow the job market, but to understand how they work, what problems each solve and how they solve them.
That understanding is valuable, that get's you job
