Free speech requires civility and willingness to respect those in the conversation. What's the point in even expressing hate and bigoted posts when all that does is spread harm?

Moderation keeps free speech working. Hate leads to the death of expression because nobody will listen to it.

So some folks complain about moderators, filters, and fact checking..

I can tell you from long experience that these things are necessary to have a civil conversation. There is always going to be a minority population in any group that actively contribute harmful content and claim "free speech!"
