Finally in recognition of over 5000 volunteering hours given to the CanalRiverTrust certificates and a bottle of 'Lock Keeper' wine were presented to both Maurice and Taryn

Then came the certificate for the most slices of cake served in one day awarded to Jeannette for her hard work at our @macmillancancer day. The award was accepted on her behalf by her husband Kev

Next was the Wooden windlass for the least boats in one day. This will be presented to Bob and Louis at a future event as unfortunately neither of them could be there.

The first award of the Blue Windlass for assisting the most boats in one day went to Maurice and Taryn.

This week the Hillmorton team were at the George in Bilton for our annual Christmas lunch. We took the opportunity to present some awards to members of the team.

At this week's working party the Hillmorton team cleared overhanging vegetation on the towpath from Bridge 66-71. We repositioned the loose handrails on lock 2, Dealt with some flytipping and other detritus.

Not yet thankfully. There was a serious RTC nearby and the custodians were notified that our unit (and others) details were passed to the 999 caller. At which point it was made unavailable on The Circuit until we had checked it out. So that proves the system works.

Yes very odd, it was only the ones not overlooked by local residents. Also top lock has seen an increase in petty vandalism since the new housing department was built. ☹️

At today's working party we replaced the stolen signage at locks 5,6 & 7. We planted new bulbs in the flower bed at top lock and also made a start on a new bed for bottom lock. Can you tell what it is yet?

No Lock Keeper today but the team will be on site for a work party putting up signage and working on a new raised flower bed.
