There were also complaints of delayed service and bus breakdowns by the chat.

Stephanie Davis of DDOT did note the City is in active communication with residents and block clubs. She notes there is not a guarantee that all suggestions are not guaranteed to be used.

A representative from a local block club in the Southfield outer Drive area notes that they were not informed about Dexter 16 route changes through the neighborhood. The chat discussion also reflects people’s concerns with communication between local government and the neighborhood block clubs.

A rider noted the Transit App does not always reflect real time activity of buses. Cramer says they are investigating this as this has been an ongoing issue detroitmi.gov/node/2706

So far money is a big concern participants. Includes concern for proper utilization of money from the state, advertising on the buses to raise funds and lowering bus fares especially for riders with economic hardship.

Former Detroit Council Member And Civil Rights Activist Alonzo Bates, Who Was Convicted of Corruption, Dies at 84 Civil rights activist Alonzo "Lonnie" Bates, who served on the Detroit City Council and the Detroit Board of Education, and went to prison in 2007 for bank fraud and approving no-show payments to ghost employees, died Thursday (Jan. 25) at age 84.

Councilman Al-Shafii is concerned with the intentions behind this fund. Chairman MacDonald noted the money is necessary to keep legal budget for the city. Motion passed.

Resolution of Michigan Indigent Defense Fund Grant from MI to provide funding and legal representation to people who cant afford it. Grant is amount of near $125,000. Is being discussed.

Councilwoman noted this resolution should have been in a workshop to better understand the details. Apparently, GLWA has workshops explaining charges.

Highland Park Economic Development Strategy Plan was tabled to give council members time to review plan until next meeting.

ICE Detention Facility Prohibition Resolution in Highland Park Passed by city council. This only covers city owned buildings.

Resolution for Publish before Punish has been tabled by City Council to be reviewed by legal until March 16, 2026.
