Two copies of the 1975 bluegrass/jazz LP by Norman Blake/Tut Taylor/Sam Bush/Butch Robins/Vassar Clements/David Holland/Jethro Burns. The new copy on the right is in significantly better condition that the old copy on the left.

It’s always fun searching for the next great record for you collection, but sometimes it feels just as great to score an upgrade copy of a record you already cherish.

Sally Timms - To The Land of Milk and Honey (1995) - YouTube Sally Timms is best known as a longtime member of the band The Mekons.

Mekons might be the obvious answer (Fear & Whiskey, The Curse of The Mekons) but they're so so good. Speaking of Mekons I also love Sally Timms' LP Somebody's Rocking My Dreamboat. Can't find it online anywhere but it's sorta twangy dream pop I guess, here's another of her LPs that's also good

I rarely find country-gospel LPs from Illinois despite being just one state over. This is a pretty good one - a pastiche of many 1970s country styles, all delivered with some great pretty interesting vocal performances.

11/21/73 is one of my favorite Dead shows and I never see it talked about.
