I believe that we all share one root spark of life, which splits into smaller roots like all potatoes, then x group of potatoes, then an individual potato's life. identical twins also have separate lives. The truly immortal part of the soul is shared anyway IMHO. Not animist maybe but my take.

Tentacle love!

A needlepoint square for a cushion cover with a border of roses and a ring of roses in the centre on a cream background. In the centre of that ring there is a swirling void and chasm, out of which emerge seven purple tentacles with yellow suckers to destroy some of the flowers and thrash about.

I finished the cushion for my daughter’s birthday!

Laura Ashley pattern from eBay for the basic roses design (the previous owner had done a couple of rows) and my own design for the rest…

I’ll make it into a cushion next.

“Weight of the Unsaid” is a raw, expressionist charcoal drawing channeling the inner violence and numbness of grief after the loss of a loved one. Harsh, jagged strokes dominate the upper left—like a scream half-swallowed—while softer smudges trail outward, fading into emptiness. A faint figure emerges on the right, almost erased before fully formed. It does not stand; it haunts.
