Five voices melted into resonant overtones, then cut cleanly as the number wrapped. Ashe could see Alex’s chest heaving from where he was leaning over the edge of the balcony, but the idol was smiling. It only grew wider when JSyl leaned forward and shoulder checked him from the back of their 3-2 split, boys in the back, his joy amplified by the screens highlighting the stage.  The mic glinted silver in Alex’s hand as he rose it to his mouth. A breath in. The cries of his name swelled.
