Nisi Shawl is one of my favorite writers, a queer elder & a BIPOC icon. I hate that the state of publishing is such that the book of their dreams would struggle to find a home, but I love that we as a community can come together to make it happen!! Give/boost as you're able? π

Every day is a new horror story with this administration but each one is horrible in its own way.
In this case, the push to deny birthright citizenship to children of immigrants. 157 years of (generally) welcoming policy at risk. Just to keep non-white people out.
Nativist horror.

An interesting piece by Rachel Kushner on writing about incarceration, a history of fiction about the topic, the way the carceral state is built into the architecture of our daily lives and more.

The Guardian view on starvation in Gaza: it will take more than words to halt Israelβs genocide | Editorial
Editorial: Condemnation is rightly growing. But until concrete action is taken, western allies will remain complicit with these horrifying crimes
"Faced with the systematic destruction of Palestinian life in Gaza, other states must together produce a systematic, comprehensive and concrete response. If not now, when? What more would it take to convince them?"
Guardian editorial board calls for comprehensive and concrete action against Israel.
