June 12, 1994: Houston's Hakeem Olajuwon with the spin and slam past Patrick Ewing during Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

Olajuwon finished with 21 PTS/11 REB/7 AST/7 BLK and Robert Horry had 16 PTS/8 REB in the Rockets’ 93-89 win. Ewing had 18 PTS/13 REB/7 BLK for the Knicks.

June 10, 1994: Houston’s Otis Thorpe drives past Patrick Ewing of the Knicks for a lefty dunk in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

Thorpe finished with 10 PTS/12 REB for the Rockets. Ewing had 16 PTS/13 REB in New York's 91-83 win that tied the series at 1-1.

Rockets head coach Bill Fitch says they will use the #1 pick to select Akeem Olajuwon. Blazers owner Larry Weinberg said his team is "very interested" in taking Sam Bowie at #2.

Still painful to watch as a Rockets fan. Rockets were so close that year. Sonics won game 7 in OT. Houston had no answer for Kemp and Payton.
