I needed some more examples, so I just made a public reference sheet with different characters viewed from different light & cam angles. Mostly ArcSys models here. Ill add more later. Links below.

16.06.2025 18:37 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0im using custom bone shapes! basically the bone uses a different mesh for its shape, and i have them hidden elsewhere in the blender file. this video can give you a better idea of how it works. (you dont need the addon but it helps a lot)

i think i need to adjust the overall proportions of the hand, and then afterwards tweak the posing. im not 100% satisfied yet, but the mechanism works. I might also change the control to be in some kind of bone panel setup rather than laid on top of the hands like this.
