For a short period in my old house, a pair of voles took up residence in my wood store, they were a very gentle pair who soon got used to me laying in the back door with my zoom lens to take their portrait.

We named this one Michelle, her other half was Mike.

I made the most of the unexpected warm weather a few days ago by popping up to Morecambe Bay, on the northern edge of the bay sits Arnside, there I captured this "Northern" Class 195 passing over the estuary of the River Kent, on it's journey from Barrow-in-Furness to Bolton.

Been back on "Go" for a week now, average saving per day 33%. I fear the good days of agile are over.

So the results are in!

In 2024, Wind Power was the MAIN contributor of electricity into the UK grid with 29.4%.

Gas was a close second at 25.9%.

Also, in line with this, wholesale energy prices DROPPED.

It's all going in the right direction.

A plane I was once on was delayed for "very special cleaning", we all know what special cleaning is, I had and have no desire to know what constitutes very special.

On a day almost as blustery as today in Spetember 2019, loco 80078 plies it's trade on the North Norfolk Railway, having just left Weybourne for Sheringham.

An iconic view of the West Highland line with 156500 leading the 0603 Mallaig - Glasgow Queen Street ScotRail service. Beinn Dorain forms the backdrop as the train heads for it's next stop at Upper Tyndrum.
