This one is a photo within a photo as I created the Sesame Street scene too and digitally added it to the TV screen.

The ad noted 16 types of head, body, and weapon parts to customize your character with! An article for the game at Unseen64.net notes that the game was probably developed by Takeru (under the Sur De Wave label seen here in the ad). This ad came out in June, '93, in Japan and promised a release that month. Apparently, that didn't happen.

This page from EGM's 53rd issue (December, 1993) is from their "International Outlook' section which takes a look at games in other countries (and teases the possibility of their arrival in North America). Pop 'N Land's entry boasts the 4,096 different patterns that players can create their characters with while also noting its "15 cute and colorful stages, each with a unique Boss". It also carries a tentative release of December (presumably for Japan), but as noted earlier, it was never actually released.

PROCESS: 1) old crusty sprite (eughh) 2) redraw at 400% > resize to 25% via billinear interpolation and index mode > local perceptual to 6 colors. 3), 4), 5) and 6) various stages of coloring, clean-up and polish.

Redid my old attempt at a CAPCOM VS SNK-styled Exdeath for #CVSQFANGAME, so that it's closer to actual CAPCOM-styled sprites. Shoutout to @tanukitype.bsky.social for the assist!
