I always wonder how often it's like "oh boy I wish I could go back to the past when nothing was mundane, because I have no memories of a random December day being kinda boring, and you know brains are famous for remembering every boring day you had 20 years ago, so this must be new in my life"

I am in so much fucking pain today. The amount of walking and biking and even running at one point I did yesterday were not in my best interest...

They just don't want it to be your choice, basically

Oh I forgot I also straightened out a snafu with my neighbor's rent portal. I feel like today was three days long.

Somehow did not fall on my ass carrying my bike backwards down the steps on the blue line train, got groceries, gesticulated while almost-shouting in the store on the phone but I was talking into my bone conduction headphones so I looked like I was shouting at nothing, got rained on

Today's accomplishments: Got my bike's rear tire repaired at a bike shop, bought a christmas ornament from a queer bookstore that says "merry fucking christmas!" which made my mom laugh, saw about half of Zootopia 2 (I needed to kill time while waiting for the bike)

I’m like your opposite, I shade things for fun - sometimes it makes my comics lose visual clarity and I’m like oh well, the important part is I had a good time, the results are everyone else’s problem haha

Me, explaining stories from the internet: "see, in a novel, you'd never write a story where the protagonist has a murder happen in his vicinity and he's like 'Oh. Well I'm sure the police will handle that' and then he goes and makes a sandwich for 100 pages BUT THE WORLD IS FULL OF THAT GUY"

But yeah, I ordered the new filters to rebuild The Cube (I used the previous filters until they were thoroughly gray). The 60-ish I paid for them was a good deal but still stings to add to my credit card

I don't regret the purchase though. It's like a smoke detector - totally useless until one day it saves your life. Today wasn't that day, and maybe it'll never be that day, but statistically, that day comes for some people who gambled on being in the majority who never have that specific emergency

I set up the CO detector and it didn't react so the migraines being worse at the apartment than at friend's house is probably down to my friend living further away from downtown (and downtown traffic pollution) than me

She’s had peppers before but her self preservation can be overcome by yummy smelling fats - I had time to take it away because she was clearly conflicted and debating whether to go for it haha

I dilute my cold brew concentrate with lactose free milk but I’m out and don’t wanna buy more because we’re going back home today so I tried using whipped cream and the whipped cream won that battle so it’s just coffee flavored foam. The texture experience of this “beverage” is… interesting

The conundrum: I miss my apartment and computer but also suspect something in the air in there is making me sick so maybe I shouldn’t wanna go home so bad and yet

Realized my several day long migraine went away once I was out here at my friend’s house a couple days. It is probably time to rebuild the Corsi-Rosenthal Cube once I get home but I ordered a CO detector just in case

He told me he was taking over Saturday service for that route “so maybe I’ll see you again!” Did not have the heart to tell him how unlikely that was since I’m not normally on that side of town. He had the air of a child who’d been entrusted with a big job for the first time

I got on the bus at an unusual location intended for drivers to take breaks. This gave the driver time for pleasantries. He asked my name and gave his, proudly showing me his uniform shoulder patch with his name, then prompted me for an elbow bump.

Got on the wrong bus 😑 the moment when I should be most suspicious of my eyesight is always when I forget and trust I interpreted a fuzzy glance correctly
