Having worked with “old guard” activists [a.k.a dissidents] in 🇺🇦🇵🇱🇨🇿🇸🇰🇨🇱🇦🇷🇧🇷 - I know personally how important the Helsinki Human Rights Declaration was to their work in the 1970s and 1980s.

That’s right the effect went beyond Europe and Canada and US.

As a matter of fact, I have met Iraqis lending this representation some credibility. Had I been frequenting people like them, as Wolfowitz might have been doing, it would sure have been easy to believe that the picture canvassed above is realistic.

Where I studied & started as a researcher, mental health was an unknown concept. Luckily, at my current workplace, it was promoted from a footnote to a page, although probably not the one where one should dwell often.
