16.02.2026 20:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If anyone's interested, the collection 'Princess Mononoke: Understanding Ghibli's Monster Princess', edited by Rayna Denison, was good and covered loads of topics, though I wanted more about the cultural inspirations.
16.02.2026 16:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I got hyperfixated on Princess Mononoke a few years ago, including reading loads of articles about the translation, technical development, its reception, and the role of women in Miyazaki's body of work.
Anyway, I have the art book now and it's super cool π

Switchboard is such a cool labour of love, and absolutely deserves this and so much more. A fully voice acted Papers Please-like! Set in 1950s England! With a really novel and tactile core mechanic!
You should go wishlist it too!

John's journalistic work is excellent and important and it's great to hear that the future of DNS seems bright. As good a time as any for me to once again recommend John's excellent and heart-rending book The Department, which outlines with deep humanity the cruelty of the DWP.

Not bad for a weird little narrative game about green washing!

A corkboard with post-it notes and polaroids showing out top moments of 2025: launching our first game, launching our second on steam, going to our first exhibition, and then also getting to exhibit at AdventureX
A work monitor showing three visual media we both loved: Conclave, Wake up Dead Man, and Severance.
A man leans against a balcony which overlooks the London skyline, listening to music. Text at the top floats upwards, reading: "Our most listened albums". At the bottom are three album covers: Arcane season 2 soundtrack, Do you like Rock music by Sea Power, and Matsubara Miki Best Collection.
A presentation being given. The presenter is saying: Our top games. One the left of the powerpoint is our most played co-op game, Helldivers. In the middle are Dragos's top picks: Anomaly Agent, Golf Club Nostalgia, and He is Coming. One the right are Adam's top picks: Silent Hill f, Omori, and House of Fata Morgana.
It's time! π₯π₯π₯
House on the Bailey's Year in Review! Our top moments, films, music, and games, one year on from when we were whispered into existence by strange and inscrutable rituals.
Here's to a bigger and better 2026!

Hugely principled and necessary action by Zarah, an excellent example of a new (old!) type of politicsβthis is what we should demand and expect from our representatives.
Qesser has been transported by ambulance to the hospital now, thanks to this intervention, but police are descending on attendees

I'm insanely proud of our work here, but we've made a game that's weird, interesting, and (dare I say!) very funny.
Too much to sayβof what inspired us, of the themes, of the learning journey of making our first game, of the amazing experience of exhibiting itβbut I'll stick to "wow".
It's my birthday, so you should buy my game π₯³
It's good, I promise, we even have 100% positive rating! (1 review)

Land owned by webs of shell companies that are hard for conservationists to unpick, native wildlife allowed to disappear to cut building regulations, and many "conservation" groups riddled with racism and anti-ecological thinking.
Still, I can't help but miss these landscapes whenever I'm away.
I have mixed feelings on the UK countryside, since so much of what we're familiar with (green hills, expansive fields, tiny scattered woods) are the surviving remnants of a great ecocide that's gone mostly unremarked upon. British rainforests destroyed, farming practices apathetic to our ecologies.
04.12.2025 20:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Wind turbines over a motorway, sky gloomy and grey.
Rolling hills, small clusters of trees, and a marbled sky as blue streaks break through grey.
Belated, but the day after releasing Behind the Hydra's Eyes, I travelled ~250 miles across the UK. Grey clouds holding back a marbled blue, rolling hills of sodden greens and browns, distant ghostly shapes of trees and turbinesβomens written in gnarled wood and steel, engines masking whispers.
04.12.2025 20:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I will be reading this over Christmas as a festive treat to myselfβa chunky 661 page behemoth of archival work.
I'd actually been waiting eagerly for it after reading Iskra's other archival collection on the PLO earlier this year, and have my eyes on some of their beautiful poetry collections.
One of those games that stays with you in the best of ways. Tonally one of the most carefully balanced games I've ever played. Amazing work.

Great graphic, and I'll be using it tomorrow π
I also heavily recommend 'This System is Killing Us' by Xander Dunlap (climate justice centred analysis of megaprojects), and 'The Apocalypse and the End of History' by Suzanne Schneider (colonial boomerang-style analysis via islamic fundamentalism).
@dragosf.bsky.social I'm making a note of this to use in a future game ;)
