I was in the same grade as Christa McAuliffe's son in 1986. I try to help enginnering students understand the role they have in building a safer future. Not all engineers will be rocket designers. But, all engineers can impact safety in their work.

Weirdly, I just had a conversation with my wife (Caterpillar employee) this week about how for the last 20+ years Cat has always referred to those machines as “track-type tractors” but in the past year or so has softened a bit on that stance. I actually doubt most at Cat are aware of the etymology.

I know there is a lot happening, but this is also very very bad. BWCA is special and needs to be preserved.

More importantly, it is PROTECTED land. If they can strip this, there will be nothing stopping them from digging up Yellowstone, chopping down Sequoia, and building mansions in Acadia.

This isn’t official, but the unofficial word is that the source code for trinket will be made open source with documentation for running it on a server essentially the same as the current trinket. No word on an export tool, but it has been requested.
