Either would be great.

My favorite example of this is a methods book papers I saw being citing that was literally not available anywhere on the Internet. It was a book from the 1930s. I reached out to a few authors too who did cite it and they'd never read it either.
30.07.2025 11:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Systems research was terrible at this. I call it "citation by induction": you saw related work citing it, so you do too.
As a result, you'd see papers being cited for no reason other than some keyword in the title matched.
Does anyone have any tools for casually viewing metrics? As in, I don't have to deploy a database and another app in multiple containers to look at them? So far, I'm just using viewing metrics as text, which I'd call barely adequate.

"CEO will be signing"
"Sorry, CEO is on vacation, so apparently the CTO should sign"
"Sorry, CTO is on vacation too, we're trying to find the first person not on holiday who can sign"
100%! I especially appreciate the meme ones adding up.

22.07.2025 17:42 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I usually think of network stack as the part of the OS/kernel that takes application payloads and writes it out to network devices (and back), and provides some set of guarantees while doing so. Things like DPDK, mTCP etc.
14.07.2025 12:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's easiest to write your own code for this (you're effectively writing a controller). Anything else is just a comical amount of complexity and pointless terminology salad.
