Nintendo of Europe's official 1998 German guide for Yoshi's Story depicts White Yoshi as being highly religious. He also states that his constant words of admonition of the other Yoshis' sinful behavior caused them to abandon him.

Development files for Yoshi's Island contain a simplistic giant monster known internally only as "Kaiju", a Japanese term for Godzilla-type giant monsters. As it is cut off at the neck, it was likely meant to rise from offscreen. Here is a mock-up of it replacing a Nep-Enut.
