Empty calories nails it. Almost none of the film is needed to advance the tiny story of a random implausible antagonist doing a thing that, at best, is an avoidably conspicuous move. The prologue lands us in a scene with "this is where the story really starts" but it's where the withholding starts.

Glad you said this. Straight male here, but even I felt Terry and that whole cereals scene and the hot dogs and t shirts were WAY OFF BEAM in their leaning on gay stereotypes and haha aren't gays funny. I mean - none of the characters in this film are especially well drawn, but c'mon, it's 2025
