Hey there #lightpollution folks, I'm teaming up with Chinese colleagues to guest edit a special issue of Journal of Urban Management on light pollution. This venue will get your work in front of international readers, and especially Chinese colleagues as engagement in #darksky issues increases.

We demonstrate that #ALAN exposure disrupts redox balance in amphibians. Both light pollution treatments (20 and 90 lux) changed antioxidant responses and induced higher oxidative damage in both tadpoles and juveniles. Juveniles seem to be more impacted by #lightpollution

#ALAN accelerate development and body size, suggesting ability of artificial light to alter feeding behavior, activity rates and energy allocation

We exposed larvae to three different night light conditions: natural darkness (control <0.3 lux), moderate ALAN (intensity of 20 lux) and high ALAN (intensity of 90 lux). We measured body size, developmental rate, and quantified #oxidativestress

Although #urbanization currently affects 88% of threatened amphibian species and is considered one of the primary drivers of their global decline, little attention has been given to the effect of #ALAN on 🐸. Here in we used European tree frog (Hyla arborea).
