The parallels are stark: entire communities were forcibly removed from the West Coast in 1942 and today our immigrant brothers and sisters face the terror of ICE and CBP raids across the country. It was a miscarriage of justice then, and it is a miscarriage of justice now.

What is your point? It seems to be that Jews don’t understand the peril we are in and that we have tied our fate to Israel. What did I misunderstand?

And re your comment about “semites” vs “Jews,” the term “antisemitism” has historically applied to Jews. Just as we understand “Latino” to be roughly synonymous w “from a Spanish-speaking country in the Americas” and not “speaks a language derived from Latin” and “Black” to mean of African descent.

U.S. Jews have widely differing views on Israel Jewish Americans – much like the U.S. public overall – hold widely differing views on Israel and its political leadership.

Before you make broad generalizations about “Jewish people,” do a little googling. Assuming all Jewish Americans feel a particular way about Israel is antisemitic (and ignorant), and assuming Jewish Americans haven’t noticed the massive uptick in antisemitism is just … suffice to say we notice
