But just two days ago I was axing wood in the snow, which always brings him to mind. I told him that unlike a character in one of his films, I enjoy chopping wood. He told me that I was wrong, that if I enjoyed it I was not taking it seriously. 'Chopping wood is not fun, Fionn.' 💔🖤

Truly saddened to learn that Béla Tarr is gone so soon. It will always be one of the great and strange privileges of my life to have spent a week with him and his wife (and co-director) Agnes in Mexico. He was warm, funny, and patient.
