Three yellow pawns (master builders), 8 yellow worker meeples (1 larger = 5), 2 metal resource cubes, some craftsmen cards.

Had my first play of The Pillars of the Earth, getting it off my Shelf of Shame (whew!). It's an enjoyable middle-weight worker placement game. This should be an easy teach: buy cards from the market; place your master builders on the board; and follow a sequence to get rewards and ultimately convert cubes to points. Repeat 6 times and there's NO end game scoring. The draw for picking up the game was the master builder mechanic: your 3 pawns go into a bag, then are drawn out 1-by-1 and you have to pay 7/6/5/4/3/2/1/0 as it progresses, or pass and place later for free. If you wait, good board spaces may be taken. Card management requires tough choices. As the game progresses, market cards get better but more expensive. I found resources were tight, but not so tight that it wasn't enjoyable. There isn't a lot of variability, so I don't know how well it will stand up to a lot of plays. But if I play it half a dozen times, it'll be worth it. We played with 3 players, and I think 3-4 is the right number. A friend described a video where with some variant rules playing at 2 seemed OK. It's a keeper for now. I understand there is an expansion so I'll be looking into what that adds.

Played The Pillars of the Earth @ 3p. Enjoyable mid-weight Euro w/ worker placement; craftsman cards to convert cubes to points; other cards for one-time or ongoing boosts. Interesting worker placement where you pay now or place later for free. Good decision spaces. Enjoyed the art. #boardgames

It took about 2 months but we finished binge watching both seasons of Andor. The hype was justified: what a great addition to the Star Wars universe. Well acted, great story (and timely), well integrated into the Rogue One storyline. Solid. Easily the best Star Wars series produced.

You never realize how annoying it would be to eat at a slotted table until you have to eat at a slotted table.

I love Deep Madness! However I don't equate it to Zombicide. Z = Kill! DP = Run! Run faster!
It *is* a hard game, which I like. Some of the scenarios are hard to understand. But the minis are terrific and I love the turn sequence mechanic.

I think we're worse. Can't believe we didn't pick up a star over the summer. Don't think we're in relegation risk but we'll be mid-table at best.

I'm interested in Transgalactica. I owned Juicy Fruits for a while, but never got it off my Shelf of Shame. I liked the chunky components and the mechanism for acquiring resources. Ended up selling it.
