Ian Chambers has done for Judas Iscariot what Dr Alexander Cummins did for the three magi. Rare breadth of knowledge on display, and a great joy to read!

Traditional Witchcraft And Betrayal... The Latin root word that gives modern English both the words ‘treason’ and ‘tradition’ is tradere, which gives the essential meaning of “to hand over”.

Very boringly, my casual reading are trail running books: Feet in the Clouds, and Run Wild (by Boff Whalley from Chumbawumba who I once got very high with after a gig at Wolverhampton Civic in the nineties).
Practical reading: Qutub and The Azoëtia.
What can I say, I’m a complex fella!

See how words feel, what they evoke, the cadence of the phrase and its impact. Play with language; they’re called spells for a reason and words enchant.

A singularly important piece of advice I would rank as number 1. Read everything; think about what the words do, how they make you feel, think or change you, then consider how the writer did that…

Genesis 2:16-17 saw the first betrayal, that of God when He told Adam and Eve that they would surely die if they ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
My new book explores the mystery of betrayal, especially as it has evolved in the tradition of witchcraft. From Ninth Circle Press.

“I know you of old,” I was told.
“You are mistaken,” I reply. “That man is dead, I have killed him.”

“I can’t go back to yesterday because I was a very different person then…” — Alice in Wonderland

As the calendar turns, be mindful of the past as you look to the future; but be always present now.

“Hail to thee, sun of the seasons,
From the realm of Hweyu,
Upon the wind of Arddu.
As thou travellest the skies aloft,
Thy steps are strong on the wing of the heavens,
Thou art the glorious mother of the stars.“

Invocation from The Witch Compass.

The first and only (to date) book that explores and expands upon the compass in traditional witchcraft. I’m immensely proud of this book, and its reception.

Easy: the Charm of Making from Boorman’s Excalibur which, upon looking at it, might be workable:

Anál nathrach, orth’ bháis’s bethad, do chél dénmha

Serpent's breath, charm of death and life, thy omen of making.
