I think Shoujo Romance have unbearable amount of love triangles as well (but what do I say it's romance centric story) But it's such an extra if the story with deeper plot and world building to rely on love triangle trope. I want to see something more creative and different to bring in the audience

What I do believe is that trope happen sorely to rise the engagement to get the wider audience with different tastes . Yes maybe it's a fair play to advertise as such but it really does make the characters shallow like you have mentioned, they don't have self-motivated goals nor drives anymore

I guess all the points you have mentioned do play the big role but at the same time, what I have learnt is that even the audience(both M/F) want to root for one ship/pair only while I see very few people rooting for both

It's a comedy and parody show! There are no deep and complex plot but the show mainly focusing on character interaction! What they say is that you can try watching first 3 episodes to understand the pattern of the show !
