I won’t forget the way
We hugged goodbye and pulled away
But arms lingering
And I dared to look you in the eyes
And found you did the same.
Deep brown eyes with catchlights like stars
Asking me a question
But unspoken it’ll stay.
I think that’s why we worked so well
Our feelings knew their place
We met, laughed, cried, and left
To go our separate ways

Found this poem in my archives. I’m a bleeding heart for sure. This is a tribute to a fleeting, beautiful connection us bleeding hearts make from time to time

NY-17 Rep. Mike Lawler had a local social worker physically dragged out of his town hall Sunday night.

Emily Feiner was singled out by private security, lifted out of her seat, as the crowd chanted β€œlet her stay” and β€œshame, shame.”
She’s a constituent.
Not a threat.
Fascism again.

If you’re in MA and see suspected ICE activity, call the LUCE hotline. www.lucemass.org if you’re in another area, there may be other resources available to you. Above all, let’s πŸ“£ get to know our neighbors πŸ“£! Strong towns start with connection!

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

I love being me. And my life became so much easier, in some ways, when I gave myself space to question my identity and accepted the outcome. It’s OTHERS that have made my life harder. Actions and attitudes. And the backlash keeps ramping up.

We need you. Stay here.

- Check in on your trans friends, I guess. Or buy them food. Ice cream. Action is priority 1, but some warmth and compassion would also be nice.

Empathy is not a weakness.

- Stay politically active: protest. Call your reps. Argue with your friends/family who have harmful beliefs. We need people who can make new allies in circles where we aren’t safe or welcome. We are TIRED. And we’re all fighting our own battles, but we badly need support.

Some things you can do:
- Educate yourself: do some research, and if you have questions after, ask someone who has *agreed to be a resource*. (I agree to be a resource, but keep the right to decline to answer)

Visibility brings increased hostility. We’re walking around with targets on our backs. I LOVE being me - and if you care about me, or other trans people in your life, find ways to support them. Please. πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

It’s a problem that the Trump administration is ignoring judge orders.

We’ve seen this over and over and will continue to do so. Lawmakers going so far to purge perceived β€œevil” that everyone suffers. Trans people have known this all along: gender diversity and freedom benefits everyone. Now we’re seeing the extreme version of what happens without those freedoms.

They say people tend to change only when the pain of staying the same outweighs the pain of changing. It’s something I’d like to get ahead of, in life. And it sounds like you did too. We have to actively shape our lives to make them what we want.

Ahh. Now I have a word for what I’ve been thinking about. I’m worried all Trump’s β€œtake-backsies” (e.g. delaying tariffs, unfreezing federal funding at least on paper, rehiring workers) will prevent the people who most need a wake-up call from getting it. It’s a game of peekaboo.
