- Check in on your trans friends, I guess. Or buy them food. Ice cream. Action is priority 1, but some warmth and compassion would also be nice.

- Stay politically active: protest. Call your reps. Argue with your friends/family who have harmful beliefs. We need people who can make new allies in circles where we aren’t safe or welcome. We are TIRED. And we’re all fighting our own battles, but we badly need support.

We’ve seen this over and over and will continue to do so. Lawmakers going so far to purge perceived “evil” that everyone suffers. Trans people have known this all along: gender diversity and freedom benefits everyone. Now we’re seeing the extreme version of what happens without those freedoms.

Hey, at least this was an improvement from the original bill, right?! That one would’ve let teachers do the exams!

Not only is he brave for publicly changing his mind, but so are all the people that gave the testimony that changed his mind! So glad he was willing to listen and empathize with his neighbors

This is a grave and sobering admission: they are not pursuing the “WELL ACTUALLY he broke the law during protests,” they are bragging that they are deporting people for protected speech.

They say people tend to change only when the pain of staying the same outweighs the pain of changing. It’s something I’d like to get ahead of, in life. And it sounds like you did too. We have to actively shape our lives to make them what we want.

It’s anti-accelerationism. It’s pretending to punch you and training you to not flinch. One day it’ll just be a punch though.

Ahh. Now I have a word for what I’ve been thinking about. I’m worried all Trump’s “take-backsies” (e.g. delaying tariffs, unfreezing federal funding at least on paper, rehiring workers) will prevent the people who most need a wake-up call from getting it. It’s a game of peekaboo.
