To me you will always be in the top 10 community manager. You did a hell of a great job being Godot CM regardless of people's terrible sense of contextual humor. Wishing you the best in any / every path you take.

Getting the dry things out of the way

Even though I've left the Foundation a while ago, I hadn't said my goodbyes to the community yetβ€”for the sake of my personal peace as much as wanting to limit the impact on a project I still care about.
Hopefully enough time has passed now to safely cut these last ties.

Copied from my LinkedIn announcement:
My departure is simply rooted in organizational strategy changes, most notably moving away from community engagement on social media.

Please understand that this is all I can say on the matter at the moment; further questions won't be answered to maintain professionality.

On that note, I'm not involved with nor will I attend GodotFest Munich.
I'm happy to meet friendly faces elsewhere in town, including former colleagues.

Moving on to the good vibes

Working with a community this involved and diverse has been a blast.

Beyond learning the intricacies of open-source volunteering, I got to meet so many of you contributing to the project in your own way. From making successful games and sharing the spoils to creating educational content for new users, from taking charge in fixing issues to being de-facto brand ambassadors for a cause you believe in.
The community you are part of is incredibly unique andβ€”in my opinionβ€”undervalued by many players in this field. As a community manager, this kind of professional playground is an absolute dream to get access to; I can assure you that whatever positive impact my work had on you, you repaid it with enthusiasm and feedback tenfold.

So despite my career path diverging here, I am certain that the impact of my time with you will remain visible in my future endeavors. For that I am immensely thankful, about lessons learned as well as relationships forged.

I invite you to stay in touch if you like, because personally there is no way I would want to turn into a stranger again. Cheering on indie games made with underdog tools like Godot has always mattered to me, that won't suddenly change. Besides, the games industry is only that big ;)

Just wanted to get these more somber news out of the way, lest they overshadow what comes next when it's time to talk about that ✌🏼

An image featuring a stylized ghost icon labeled 'Phantom Camera' on the left side, alongside a large green 'C#' symbol with the words 'Wrapper' written underneath it and 'Beta' surrounding both in a circular pattern.

A fair few have asked for better C# support and thanks to the stellar work from 2 contributors, Phantom Camera now has an official wrapper.

Should make using the addon in C# feel a lot more elegant and native.

This is a pre-release, so feedback is welcome.

YouTube video by RTΓ‰ News Kneecap manager says band β€˜on the right side of history’

What a fucking great way of handling such a distressingly evil interview. I had never heard of Kneecap, but I'm buying their discography just for being good lads with a solid moral compass in a fucking horrifying world.

Contains an icon of PhantomCamera at the top with text sitting below it saying β€œIntroducing” with the word β€œPhantomCamera4D” written below that.

Below that, it says, β€œComing soon*”, where at the bottom right of the image it reads β€œMaybe? Check back next year”.

Have been working on this for a while and given it's a new month, today feels like the day to announce some exciting news.

That's right, Phantom Camera is going to support 4D scenes in Godot! Something no other camera addon has ever done.

Can't wait to see what cool 4D scene people make with it!

Displays Phantom Camera with a subtitle saying 0.8.1.

Below is a faded step animation of a PhantomCamera3D node, with text next to it saying 3D Physics Interpolation Support.

While Godot 4.4 isn't quite out yet, that doesn't mean we can't be ready for when the day comes.

The long-awaited 3D Physics Interpolation is now supported in the latest addon release. It should greatly improve visual results and UX for 3D scenes.
