Saw this one on the Beatles and Cavern Club Photos Facebook page today. Taken (presumably by Linda) during sessions for Long Long Long this day in 1968.

Those 1970s Oldfield albums part soundtracked my childhood. Mum was a huge fan and got each one when it came out. They instantly remind me of her every time I play them.

On a quick look at my best albums of 1980 playlist, I can see that Dexys qualify and will definitely be on my list too.

Congratulations to Leicestershire, deserved winners of Division Two this year. Northamptonshire’s middle order held up the trophy presentation with a spirited batting display which offers some hope going into the long winter. Counting the days until the new season already.

Shock result. They only needed to bat out the day. Hampshire probably can’t believe their luck after their own collapse yesterday.

Such a great album. What a voice.
