I would be surprised as well. I live 100 km (60 miles) from Lake Winnipeg but we still see gulls here all summer (none in the winter which isn't that surprising).

This is why I keep the cats, and the son that owns them, down in the basement overnight. Mind you that is the only area of the house that is carpeted but sacrifices need to be made to keep my morning feet puke free.

I despised the man. I despise how he died. When his killer is caught I expect it to be a former MAGA hater who felt cheated and used by the people at the head of the extreme right movements in the USA. I hope the killer is caught so they will quit blaming the left for the sins of the right.

I expect the shooter to be someone on the right wing. Likely disillusioned by what they have seen from the people they previously supported. I also expect the shooter has a military background but is not a sniper or even a sharpshooter. A single shot and no bystanders hit. That took some skill.

Considering there are still two plants in Canada bottling Crown Royal, I don't see this move as a reason to boycott. One of those plants is about 100 km north of me as I type this. A European company made a business decision based on economics. I am still boycotting, where possible, all US products.

Sounds like a broken sewer line. When I was a teen I worked for the Greater Winnipeg Water District. One of the side projects they put us on involved repairing old wooden sewer lines. You could smell the leaks while walking on the street.
