a how to guide for creating crossword dungeons. Step 1 - Find and Do, do the crossword. Step 2 - See Beyond, find the inspiring words and start to see the shape. Step 3 - Extrapolate, ditch words you dont like, create walls, you contol the dungeon. Step 4 - Draw the rest of the owl (make the dungeon from the inspiration). Step 5 - BE NOT AFRAID. Its just a dungeon created from a crossword, they wont always work.

A comment on itch reminded me of this idea for creating #TTRPG dungeons I had a while back. I still think its neat and I don't think I've actually shared it here on bsky.

So bsky.. meet Crossword Dungeons!
Do a crossword, use the answers and designs as inspiration for the rooms, get creative!

Thanks to their excellent memories and communication, they make natural historians, but good luck getting them to tell you the information you actually want.

Seasonal migrations would be like a fantasy newspaper from other territories.

For our #WeekOfWorldbuilding, the first poll results are in! As such, I'm going to settle on sentient humanoid history as having been developing for approximately 3,000 years now.

With 3 major events, that would put at least 1 major event every 1,000 years - with minor events sprinkled between.

In this arid place, life exists among squat thorny bushes and dry grasses poking up out of sand and loose gravel.

Any day can become a good day, especially if you disappear into the forest and open up a tea shoppe and used bookstore that caters primarily to the wild folk of the wood.

I love the dichotomy of the origin being a divine war, but actually the gods were all myths. "So wait, what in the actual happened here?"

Throwing some mystery into the worldbuilding, some inaccuracies, that's my jam.

Week of Worldbuilding typography.
The story so far.
Among the innumerable first gods rivalry, ambition, and defiance burned brightly. Their war turned stars to ash. Their battles shattered the firmament. In the end, none survived. There was no victor. This world remains, not because it was meant to, but because it was overlookedโ€”a battlefield turned into a home, a fragment left behind. The gods are gone, their war long ended. Yet some still search the heavens, waiting for the day when their names are spoken once more.

Amidst an aging yellow star beginning to transition to a red giant, 2 of its outer planets remain temperate and habitable, one with dense forests and dying civilizations.

This is where our worldbuilding continues...

We continue our #WeekofWorldbuilding with a look at Theology. How the universe came into existence should have already set you on the path toward what comes next, so let's codify that a bit.

But for anyone who's forgotten already, a primer on what we're working with from Cosmology yesterday.

This is something I've encountered at the day job. Every platform has different requirements and that's just online. Print goes even wilder, then there's embroidery...

my mom taught me there's two kinds of businesses: hot dog stands and art galleries

- hot dog stands protect territory and keep competition off their turf
- art galleries benefit from more adjacent art galleries, cluster together to amplify reach/support

youre an art gallery, not a hot dog stand
