You always want to be careful taking game lessons from actual plays but this is a valuable one, I think. If you choose to play an uncommon ancestry, ask your DM about what their place may be in that setting and consider how that would inform your character's personality.

You can tell so much about the world by seeing how these characters of different ancestries act and interact and it informs who they are as people. It's infinitely more interesting than "here's a goblin, a goliath, and a firbolg all delving dungeons together."

Whitney's Tyranny is a demon unaware of mortal customs and acts accordingly. On the other hand, orcs, dwarves, and humans seem to be common races in the town so PCs of those races feel a bit more comfortable in the space.

All of these things should be so important but they weren't even considerations.

On the other hand, Laura's pixie Thimble has a whole culture and history intertwined with Ashley's elven Vaelus's cultural history. Travis' Teor acts like he knows he is frightening to others by sight.

Imagine being an outer planes hippo being in a land filled with humans, elves, and dwarves? You bring knowledge most people could never understand but you are also stranded from your homeland. Do you have traditions foreign to this place? Are you desperate to fit in?

Obviously not every player is this way but most are. I play a game now where someone plays a giff but they may as well be a human or elf or anything else because it has informed nothing about who they are as a person.

Something I am loving about Campaign 4 CR is how each character feels like their ancestry is important to who they are. I always find racial options in TTRPGs incredibly boring because players typically wear them like a costume. They don't really inform the character at all.

The biggest of congratulations. What an amazing accomplishment. I learned so much about both running campaigns and playing in them from watching Drakkenheim. I can't wait to watch Woodcreek and then Seasons of Silence next year!

I'm still waiting on a sale. I'm interested but I can't justify full price for games I've already played in their original form.

It's incredible how they went from Mobile Suit Gundam to Zeta in only a few years. I love that classic look but Zeta is just a whole new level.

Oh I should add, I haven't read any of the Boom comic line. Only the Dark Horse ones.

I recall one of them being more of a sequel to Serenity (I think Leaves on the Wind) and it was fine. The others were pretty forgettable in my opinion.

There's a culture in games today that games have to keep pushing out updates or else they are "dead". It's such a bizarre mentality. It's okay for things to be finished. They don't need to grow forever like Tetsuo in Akira.

My kid got motion sick for the first time today, unfortunately a day with multiple drs appts and errands. He's all cleaned up but I've spent the day driving the family around in a shirt with throw up on it.

This was without a doubt the most ambitious video I've ever made.

Been thinking about what games may be up for Game of the Year and I just don't have a clear cut winner in mind. Blue Prince, Expedition 33, Silksong... All are genre defining experiences. I haven't even tried Hades 2 or DK Bananza yet. What a year!

I started Strange Antiquities the other day and both it and Strange Horticulture are such phenomenal games. I've never played anything else quite like it but the mystery and worldbuilding is intoxicating.

I need an article or video on how Tron Ares ever got made. Who wanted this? Who thought it deserved a budget on par with Marvel blockbusters??
