Our results show that, while there are observed phenotypic associations between physical and mental health conditions in young people, Mendelian randomisation analysis indicated that for most of the physical health conditions investigated, the link is likely not causal.

We use MoBa and iPSYCH cohorts, as well as Norwegian registry data, to investigate associations between long term physical health conditions in young people, such as migraine, diabetes and epilepsy, and depression and anxiety symptoms and diagnoses.
