Today’s report from the Environment Select Committee shows 95% of submitters oppose the Fast-track Approvals Amendment Bill.

Yet again, Luxon’s Government is squashing long standing environmental safeguards, te Tiriti obligations & democracy to benefit their wealthy mates and corporations.

Pauline Hanson visited Melbourne and found she was as popular as…

A fart in a space suit.

A mosquito at a nudist colony.

A dead fish in a sauna.

As stepping on Lego.

A turd in a swimming pool..

Syphilis.

What else...?

It's a bit sad. As an atheist, I don't have a problem with all religions celebrating everything and anything and they just need to be supported.

Tesco's warning to New Zealand farmers If New Zealand farmers want to continue exporting to the lucrative UK market, they will have to commit to a better climate future, says UK supermarket Tesco.

Why does anyone with half a brain and the ability to read know that will happen but people in government and the farming industry apparently don't?

The media keeps pushing the lie that fossil fuels are cheaper than renewables. They’re not. CSIRO and AEMO show solar and wind are far cheaper. The fossil fuel lobby funds the lie, and half our grid’s already renewable. The transition’s happening, like it or not.

How would you describe that worldview?
My father told me something when I was very small to instill confidence in me: “Nobody in the world is worth more than you, but nobody’s worth less.” It is an egalitarian view that I’ve carried around in my life. That’s why I am for free schools, free universities, free health care, and free babysitting. Because our society could afford it. In America, people think social democracy is some kind of communism. They think capitalism is freedom. It’s not. It’s only freedom to exploit people.

South Australia is hitting 100% renewables EVERY SECOND DAY at the moment.

Phenomenal. 75% renewables on average for the past year.

The future is here, it's just unevenly distributed.

The lady at the charity shop today told me that she wishes people would clear out their children's old toys in the lead up to Christmas rather than after because she always sees a number of parents in the days before Christmas looking for toys for their little ones who might be strapped for cash. She said there's very rarely anything in just before, but that they get inundated with toys in the days after.

And it really made me think about it in a way I never would have before. If you know your child is going to get lots of presents from father Christmas this year, by clearing out your cupboards a few days early you could make another child's Christmas a lot more special too.

Saw this & thought I'd repost

Sending much strength to all the nurses, doctors and teachers In NZ who are striking tomorrow. There's a surprising lack of reporting about it outside of NZ but it's the largest planned strike action in a very long time.
