@jayrayner1.bsky.social gutted to find out via my wife reading your book in the sun today that your inspiration to become a restaurant critic wasnโ€™t the story you told me to write in 1986 which gave me my first byline in Leeds Student โ€œSarnies Warโ€ but something else entirely. Ruined my street cred!

We could shift Windermere and the other lakes and our fells there as well, perhaps. Iโ€™m sure the 15m visitors would be doubled with better weatherโ€ฆ.

I was there for that! Couldnโ€™t imagine what we were going to see unleashed on the football world. Strachan should go down as one of the best signings we have ever made - ยฃ300k?

@meetanostomate.bsky.social Iโ€™m day 11 post surgery to reverse my ileostomy. I still have a very distended stomach, but got home from hospital yesterday and slept properly for the first time last night. Now to build myself back up - any tips from anyone who has been through similar? #stoma #postop

Stupid question - but doesnโ€™t gravity help with the downward version - and might you be more prone to leaks going sideways?

I love this film so had slight trepidation going to the Stavely Players performing a radio play of it. I neednโ€™t have worried - it was fabulous and the Old Laundry Theatre in Bowness is beautiful!

Sensible. Youโ€™ll wear the disc out by watching it. When DVDs come back in, itโ€™ll be worth more (Yorkshire logic that)

Mine got bigger - but I also developed a hernia around it (I was very sick in hospital). I think itโ€™s pretty normal for it to change in size over time. Hope all is going well
