Israel have not stopped guards from shooting at people arriving at one of the handful of aid distribution points that they have set up.

If Israel doesn't act to prevent mass salvation, then the Israeli government will be responsible for one of the worst genocides since WW2.

Yet for months Israel have restricted access to Gaza for humanitarian relief; they have restricted distribution within Gaza for humanitarian relief. They have also stopped the UN agency that has been the main source of humanitarian aid for the past few years from operating.

Israel must also allow the Western media access to Gaza to report on the situation, if they have nothing to hide they have nothing to fear.

Flooding Gaza with food would remove any power Hamas have to control it

Israel must also declare a full ceasefire for a minimum of 90 days. To give aid a chance to succeed.

Finally the Israeli government must see Gazians as people just like them and stop the othering of them.

Almost a third of people in Gaza 'not eating for days,' UN warns Israel faces increasing pressure from Western allies to lift restrictions into the flow of aid into Gaza.

This must change. Israel is the occupying power, who control all land & sea access to Gaza, under International law they must ensure people are fed.

To prevent mass deaths Israel must - allow all agencies unrestricted access to Gaza and within Gaza to distribute aid.

The 50% drop in net migration just announced will surprise precisely nobody who has been paying attention to the issue, as opposed to exploiting and lying about it for clicks & votes. I doubt the stats will change the toxic narratives of the latter group, though.

Sir, Any confirmation I required that Sir Keir Starmer's Brexit reset deal was a positive step was provided by the sour response of Kemi Badenoch, a characteristically infantile comment from Boris Johnson, and the unhinged headlines in certain tabloids.

Bob Maddams: The prime minister's reset is an important step in the right direction. If it goes well in practice further renegotiations will surely follow that work in the economic interests of both the UK and our European neighbours. So just for once it would be pleasing if the Tories and other opposition parties responded positively to a government initiative that acts in the best interests of the country at large, instead of reacting with kneejerk critical comments about "betraying" the electorate.
The only betrayal that took place in 2016, and subsequently, was the one perpetrated by Boris Johnson, who placed personal ambition and political capital above the interests of the British people. Kemi Badenoch would do well to remember this and for once ignore the Tory grandees and get behind a process that will be good for Britain. Moreover, distancing herself from the mess the Tories made of Brexit can only be to her advantage.

The Brexit mood music has changed. You can’t wang on about sovereignty and fish any more and expect people to care. Trade deals aren’t massively convincing either. People just don’t want hassle and higher bills. That’s all Brexit actually delivered. We’re very tired of the failure.

'Unhinged And Unserious': Reform UK's New 'Manifesto' Gets A Kicking The Economist called Nigel Farage's plans "a disaster".

Reforms policies would make Liz Truss's mini-budget look like a storm in a tea cup, but given that Farage described the Truss budget as the best Tory budget for years, it is hardly surprising he has a program with Β£100 billion of unfunded promises.

1. Brexit does not stand up to scrutiny

2. The more scrutiny is placed on Brexit, the worse it looks

3. A strong majority already think Brexit is going badly

4. Labour can't fight Reform on immigration. They're trying. They'll LOSE.

5. So why not make the fight all about Brexit? That's winnable!

But as a historian I am looking at front pages today and must wonder: What is the point of remembering #VEDay 80 years on, what is the point of our thanks, when we are failing to protect the sacrifices made? 🧡
