Demand evidence whenever possible. Evidence, to me, is anything two or more people can witness FIRSTHAND, and one of those people must be yourself. If you are not included, you are choosing to have faith in the story being told without evidence. (3/4)

"Liberals want to destroy America".
"God hates gays"

These words are YOU reading them to yourself and deciding if they make sense TO YOUR OWN CONTEXT. You tell yourself stories and then, if the story uses the right words in the right order, you believe it.(2/4)

The problem in Western civilization is not empathy. It is a willingness to believe stories without evidence. It's willingness to believe anything that "makes sense", which can be hijacked by recreating the fight/flight/freeze response through words (which shuts down all critical thinking). (1/4)

One of the problems with believing you are 100% right about something is any resistance or disagreement becomes an attack, and anything preventing you from having total control becomes tyranny.

A human is a human, no matter how big, no matter how small.

At its root, the concept of supremacy is simple: Do you assume you are better than any person on the planet right now?

This internal belief becomes easily seen in your word choices for others. Especially if this assumption has been validated into justified belief by someone else. (1/2)

So....are ideals a poison? Or is the refusal to consider an ideal against reality that contains other people with freedoms the poison? Something else?

belief that "I know what's best for everyone" and the persistance of an ideal that often requires complete control and destruction of freedom for everyone else - especially those that might reject your ideal.

This story of idealism and totalitarianism contains the worst human tragedies and.....

What needs to change to get there from here?

Common pitfall: One problem with nearly all utopian dreams is that the bridge from here to there is overlooked or ignored. Often this transition requires the harshest dystopia imaginable for many - totalitarian rule.

This seems to hinge on the.....

Take a minute and imagine your ideal country or society of the future.

Is there violence? Are there homeless and hungry? Are there ultra rich? Is it peaceful? Is everyone happy?

Once you can picture it, now for the hard part that makes a very complex and hard-to-understand reality much clearer..

Imagine there is a bull in a china shop. Your china shop.

It has just smashed the display near your store entry, which blocked the door - your only way out. The initial smashing has now agitated and excited the animal.

What do you do? What actions are you willing to take?

The Weirdness of Right and Wrong Relativity applies in the strangest of places.

Relativity applies to right and wrong, but perhaps in more and deeper ways than you might think.

Two points are always required to define the words at all.

The Truth Problem Who gets to decide what is right?

You are not wrong.

Right and wrong are determined by what is true.

To determine what is true - we have to first be willing to let go of authority.

Letting go of authority is not something we do easily.

I've not seen any caterpillars on milkweeds for the past two years now.....dang, this sucks.
