Elsie Jane’s Adoption Story I can't believe we have had Elsie over a year and haven't written her adoption story, yet. The rescue posted pictures of this cute, long, chihuahua mix and I immediately fell in love. Like, head over heals in love with this little girl. I told my husband we needed to get her. He said no, because we have too many dogs (is that even possible?!). But, eventually I wore him down. We were saying goodbye to our Walter boy, and my husband knew I needed this baby to help me through my grief.

Polly Had to Go to the Emergency Vet On Saturday, my husband and I were out running errands. When we got home, Polly was crying and limping. I initially thought she just jumped off the dog bed and landed wrong. I was hoping it would go away quickly. Unfortunately, she was still limping and in pain hours later, so we took her to the emergency vet. They examined her and did some x-rays and it showed that she has a luxating patella in her back, left leg. Her kneecap kept popping out of place, and when that happened she couldn't bend her knee and was in pain.

Momma Had Covid We've been a little MIA here because our momma had COVID last week and daddy was out of town. So, we just did a lot of snuggling and sleeping around. It wasn't bad, but we are happy momma is finally feeling better.

A Quick Pupdate / 03 Betty is fitting in quite well and has recovered nicely from her spay surgery. She is a crazy little love bug and we enjoy having her around. Bentley got sick and had to go to the vet. Turned out to be something he ate that upset his stomach. He is totally fine now! Polly has been biting at her paws more than usual, due to allergies. Unfortunately, she has a spot on her foot now that the fur is missing. 😦 We've been using hot spot spray and it does somewhat.

New Dog Tattoo This past weekend, a local tattoo shop did a fundraiser for an animal rescue. Obviously I had to support them! I got this cute little tattoo of me and Walter, the original D-O-G. I had him since he was a tiny baby, but sadly we lost him last year at the age of 13. He was a crazy and sweet old man.

Betty’s Spay Surgery Betty finally had her spay surgery on April 30. Her surgery went well and she was awake after about 1.5 hours. However, she had a very infected uterus, so we are lucky we got her in when we did. Since we couldn't officially adopt her until she was spayed, we were able to sign her adoption papers on May 1, so she is officially ours! We put her in a tiny onesie after surgery so she didn't have to wear a cone. Since her surgery, Betty has been healing quite well.

Amazon Finds | Clothes for tiny Dogs Y'all, finding clothes that fit a tiny 3.2lbs Chihuahua is hard. Most of them, even in the smallest size, are too big for her. After a lot of searching, I found some stuff on Amazon that fits her quite well. This shop on Amazon has clothes for tiny & small dogs and Betty gets size XXS. There is such a thing as Rabbit & Guinea Pig clothes, and these shirts fit Betty pretty well. We also got her these cat shirts, and they fit her quite well, too! Betty wears XS.

A Quick Pupdate / 02 Just a little update on the dogs and what they have been up to… Betty met my dad and step-mom on Saturday. She was weary about the humans, but had a great time chasing their dog around (she is 10lbs smaller than their dog!). Bentley missed his daddy when he was out of town. He is definitely a daddy's boy and loves being in daddy's lap all the time. Polly has been really turning into a daddy's girl, too. She loves being with him! She has also been enjoying time out on the deck laying in the sun. Elsie is her normal, sweet, loving self. She is really enjoying the warmer weather and being outside more.

An Unexpected Bond Y'all know Polly struggles with anxiety. In the past, this has led to some aggression. She has been on medication for many months now and it has been life changing for her. There has been no further aggression towards Elsie. We were really nervous to bring in a new dog because we weren't sure how Polly would act. Would she get aggressive? Would she act out? Would she be more anxious? We cautiously brough Betty into our home almost a month ago. Betty is one year old. We figured she would be a good playmate for Elsie (two years old).

This poor baby has had a rough first year of life. She had a still born puppy. She came from a horrible hoarding situation. She is currently in heat, so her spay surgery has to be delayed. She has tape worms. 🐾 We've only had her a month, but she is doing so well here.

Life With Betty Update We have had Betty with us for a few weeks now. I was a bit nervous brining her in, because we have had some aggression issues with Polly in the past. I wasn't sure how she would react to a new dog in the house. She has been on her medicine for awhile now, and is doing so well with it. We were extra careful introducing Betty to Polly. Y'all...we did not need to worry. Polly adores Betty! Everyone has been getting along so well. Betty fits right in with our family and we couldn't be more grateful and excited to have her with us.

I see #Amazon delivery drivers complaining they go to the same house every day & that customers should have everything delivered the same day.

My experience: place an order with 5 items to be delivered on same day. Amazon splits into 3 deliveries on 3 different days.

It's not always the customer.

Meet Betty Rose Last Thursday, we picked up this teeny, tiny little 3.2lbs Chihuahua to foster. We named her Betty Rose. Our intention from the beginning was the adopt her, but we needed to see if she would get along with our other dogs first. It has gone extremely well with the other dogs. She will snuggle and sleep with both Polly and Elsie. She adores blankets. And, she loves being on laps. Betty is about 1 years old. She does get a little growly about food, but she came from a hoarding situation, so that is expected.
