Welcome to July! July is to me is a month of birthdays. This little girl turned 6 years old on July 3rd. My birthday is coming up on the 19th. And of course, there is the birthday of the Declaration of Independance for the United States of America. Happy birthday to everyone celebrating with us!

Old milk weed pods still cling to their stem after a full winter. The pods are overlapping with the top pod horizontal and the bottom pod vertical. One seed is still attached to the horizontal milkweed pod and a bit of milkweed fluff dangles from the seed. The background is a rich shade of brown.
A bit of leftover Autumn. While winter still clings on here in the area I live in, there are still quite a few remnants of autumn. Even after a full winter, the milk weed pods have a special kind of interest and beauty.
