I love hearing from Republicans (or former Republicans) who have finally seen the light and can comment on the wrongheaded thinking of their (former?) party. Being distanced a bit from our progressive echo chamber on occasion has its benefits. Consequently, I really miss Dowd’s voice.

Today’s Republican Party. The party of snowflakes & snitches. The party that needs its safe space. The party that can’t handle free speech.

If the right *truly* believed Charlie Kirk was a defender of free speech and someone who was fine with dissenting opinions, they wouldn't be engaged in a massive campaign to punish anyone who didn't "mourn him properly."
